The Legacy has a heavy gauge metal hood, fenders, and floor pan. These don’t come available for sale very often because most people don’t want to part with them, but I have one.
It’s difficult to tell in the photos, but this thing is HUGE; there’s a Simplicity Conquest in the photos to emphasize the size contrast (and the Conquest is not a small mower). It weights over 1,000 pounds and has 18″ front and 26″ rear tires. Simplicity dealers were the only place to buy it new, and it cost roughly $10,000.
Legacy 25HP Kohler Command engine from Simplicity. Power steering, shaft-driven hydrostatic transmission with high/low range and automated traction control, foot-operated locking differential, and cruise control with around 995 hours on the clock. Very easy to drive, with foot controls for forward and reverse. Temperature and fuel gauges, a tachometer, and many indicator lights are all found in the instrument cluster. There is a three-point hitch, but the lowest links are missing.
Electric cutting height control and hydraulic deck lift. Heavy-duty 54″ shaft-driven mowing deck. Earlier this season, I had the engine oil and filter changed, as well as the transmission serviced, and I was ready to mow. Scratches and wear on the paint are to be expected. It runs and mows beautifully, and it’s a delight to operate. Serious buyers are invited to come have a test drive.
